The Yuma Pioneer has teamed up with VarVee, the new scores and statistics database for Colorado high school sports, and endorsed by the Colorado High School Activities Association.
The VarVee database has been integrated into this website on the Sports page.
One can use the pulldown menus to check out their favorite teams results and statistics. The available data corresponds with what the coaches themselves enter into the site, so the information will become more complete and broadbased as more coaches utilize the VarVee system.
VarVee was created by Stephen Cunningham, a father of high school athletes in the Denver area who was frustrated with the inconsistent reporting of statistics found online for Colorado high school athletes. It was test run through Fox 31's online Prep Zone last year, showing that it worked as advertised. It was then endorsed by CHSAA prior to this school year.
Currently, area teams that are keeping their information updated include Yuma softball, Liberty and Otis volleyball, and Wray volleyball and softball. Much of the Yuma boys golf information also is entered into the system.
