1A volleyball: Otis wins Akron tourney

The Otis High School volleyball is looking to keep the momentum going after winning the Akron Tournament, last Saturday.
The Bulldogs entered this week 9-5 overall, hosting Prairie in a non-league match this past Tuesday before hosting Genoa-Hugo on Friday. They are 3-0 in the YWKC League.
Otis beat Holyoke last Saturday in Akron, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-23. Statistics were not available. The Bulldogs also beat Byers in pool play, 25-21, 25-23 and 25-18. Statistics were not available.
That set up a championship match against Stratton. Otis lost the first set 18-25, but got stronger as the match wore one, winning the next three sets 25-23, 25-13 and 25-8. Otis statistics again were not available.

LONE STAR
Lone Star’s volleyball team will be trying to build on last week’s win at Peetz.
The Longhorns played at Briggsdale this past Tuesday, and host Arickaree for a league match on Monday.
They cruised past Peetz on September 20, 25-20, 25-19 and 25-23. Lone Star statistics were not available.

ARICKAREE
The Arickaree Bison will play their first match in more than a week when they travel to Hi-Plains in Seibert on Saturday.
The Bison are 12-4 overall after winning in four sets at Prairie, September 20. They lost badly in the first set, 9-25, but rallied after that for wins of 25-23, 25-17 and 25-19. Statistics were not available.
