There’s a lot to celebrate this year with the 5:10 to Yuma.
First, well we actually get to have a 5:10 to Yuma! And the race has successfully been around for five years – even if last year’s version was a bit different.
“We are so excited to able to produce this race again for 2021,” Race Director Alice Swanson Metzler said. “It’s not just for the participants or as a fundraiser, it’s for the whole community.”
The Finishers’ Festival will help add to the celebration and takes place in the 100 block of S. Main St.
The festival will include a pancake breakfast provided by the Yuma Volunteer Fire Department. All race participants will receive the pancake breakfast as part of their race registration. Additional breakfasts can be purchased for $6. The breakfast will be served on the 200 block of S. Main St. in front of Hoch Real Estate and Wildlee.
Live entertainment will be provided by Jonathan Moody from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Awards will be given at 11:00 a.m.
The beer garden will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., with beer provided by Tumbleweed Brewery. You must be a race participant and wear your over-21 red wrist band to enter the beer garden.
Several stores will be open and providing their own discounts and celebrations, including LuElla’s Boutique which provides a discount (and the race bags) to all participants.
And if nothing else, come down and see the smiles of all those receiving a finishers medal and celebrating, not only the race but the fact that we can!
