6-man and 1A volleyball

The Otis High School football team is back home as the Bulldogs host Briggsdale on Friday at 7 p.m.

Otis is 5-0 and No. 4 in the CHSAA 6-man Selection & Seeding Index. Briggsdale heads to Otis with a 1-3 record. After Friday, the Bulldogs close out the regular season with a brutal stretch against the other four teams currently in the top five in the Index.

They cruised to a 58-6 win over North Park, last Friday afternoon in mountainous Walden. Otis statistics were not available.

ARICKAREE FOOTBALL

A challenging schedule continues this week for the Arickaree football team.

The Bison are at Idalia on Friday night. The Wolves are No. 1 in the CHSAA 6-man Selection & Seeding Index after blowing past Stratton last week.

The Bison are 2-4 after losing their last games — against No. 4 Otis, No. 5 Stratton and No. 2 Peetz (based on this week’s Index).

They lost 50-20 at Peetz last week. The home team led 30-6 at halftime, then tacked on 20 more in the fourth. Arickaree had six points in the third and eight in the fourth.

Austin Wright ran for 255 yards and three touchdowns for the Bison. Jorge Ramos added 32 yards on nine carries. Wright completed three of 12 passes for 90 yards, and Jaxson Cordell had an eight-yard completion. Ramos had four catches for 54 yards, Cordell two for 36 yards, and Daniel Goff one for eight yards.

Wright was in on 11 tackles, Keith Page nine, Ramos seven, Luis Machado five, Colton Sperry four, and Cordell three.

OTIS VOLLEYBALL

Otis High School’s volleyball team is 10-4 and No. 9 in the CHSAA 1A Seeding & Selection Index heading into their match at No. 2 Fleming today, October 2.

The Bulldogs host Briggsdale on Friday, and are at Prairie on Tuesday.

They went 1-2 at the Akron Tournament last Saturday. The first beat Akron in two sets. Scores and statistics were not avaiThe Lone Star volleyball team entered this week 5-6 and No. 21 in the CHSAA 1A Seeding & Selection Index.

The Longhorns were at Deer Trail this past Tuesday, and host Idalia today, October 2.

Lone Star hosted No. 2 Fleming last Thursday, losing in three sets, 18-25, 21-25, 20-25. Paityn Forry had seven kills, Jade Kuntz six, Grace Cochran two, Katie Etl two, Audrey Wade two, and Kaylee Coin one. Cochran had 13 setting assists. Bryn Cook was 10-11 serving with four aces, Peytyn Kuntz 9-10 with one ace, J. Kuntz 9-11 with one ace, Forry 8-11 with one ace, Cochran 9-9 and Wade 8-8.lable. Otis then played McClave, lost 25-16, 25-10. That set up a third-place match against Yuma, losing in three sets, 25-17, 18-25, 10-15. Otis statistics were not available from those matches.
