Yuma graduate joins international missions team

Raquel Eduardo Núñez is a 2021 graduate of Yuma High School and a recent graduate of the University of Northern Colorado. She is preparing to begin a new chapter in international relief and development.

Later this summer, Raquel will join Engineering Ministries International (EMI)— a Christian nonprofit that partners with communities around the world on development projects such as hospitals, schools, churches, and orphanages. She will serve as part of EMI’s Visual Communications team, helping to share the stories of the people and projects the organization supports, bringing hope to the world.

Raquel shares that her time at college deepened her interest in humanitarian work and clarified her desire to use her creative talents to serve others. Over the next two years, she’ll be traveling overseas and working with professionals from a variety of fields to support EMI’s efforts to serve under-resourced communities.

To help make this work possible, Raquel is currently building a team of financial supporters who want to partner with her in this mission. As a member of a nonprofit organization, she is responsible for raising the full amount of her support before she begins this assignment by July.

She’ll be sharing more about her journey and upcoming work on Sunday, June 8, at New Life Eckley Church; all are welcome to attend. The event will include stories from her personal and professional path, details about EMI’s mission, and opportunities for those interested in supporting or learning more. The service starts at 10 a.m.

Raquel is excited to connect with her hometown community before heading abroad and looks forward to meeting new and familiar faces on Sunday. One can also reach Raquel by email Raquel.EduardoNunez@emiworld.org and find out more by QR code.
