A suspect is facing multiple felony charges after leading local law enforcement on a chase on Highway 34, last Friday, June 20.
Ethan Cory Dudash, also known as Cody Crow, is facing the following charges: five felony counts of attempted murder, extreme indifference; five felony counts of menacing; two felony counts of assault in the first degree; one felony count of motor vehicle theft; one felony count of vehicular eluding; one felony count of third-degree criminal trespass; a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest; a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence, and; a misdemeanor count of child abuse.
His bond was set at $50,000 cash/surety. Dudash also has a total of six warrants from throughout Colorado.
It began last Friday when the Yuma Police Department received reports of a suspicious vehicle. The driver was reportedly asking individuals where he could hide the vehicle and trailer he was operating.
Officers responded to the scene and attempted to contact the vehicle. Upon approach, the suspect fled at a high rate of speed, prompting a pursuit. The vehicle headed westbound on Highway 34 toward Washington County, reaching speeds of approximately 95 miles per hour.
During the pursuit, the suspect endangered the public by driving into the eastbound lane, forcing oncoming vehicles onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.
Law enforcement successfully deployed stop sticks, which disabled the vehicle. Dudash then drove into a wheat field, where the vehicle came to a stop. Officers were able to take him into custody without further incident.
Law enforcement learned Dudash had an active felony warrant out of Lakewood. The vehicle, a dark-colored Ford dually pickup towing a black dump trailer, was confirmed to be stolen out of Arvada.
If you witnessed the pursuit, or were one of the drivers forced to the shoulder by the suspect, please contact the Yuma Police Department at (970) 848-5441.
The Yuma Police Department would like to thank the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the WY Combined Communications Center for their assistance in this incident.
