Drenia Ann Hegland (Miller), 68, of Fort Morgan passed away April 24, 2023 at UC Health Hospital in Greeley, CO after a battle with dementia. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Otis Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Drenia was born to Jerry and Josephine Miller on April 7, 1955 in Denver, CO. She attended school in Otis, CO. In January 1973 Drenia became a mom for the very first time when Mendy Jo Pletcher was born. Drenia found her first true love in Mark Leon Dischner and they were wed in May 1975. To this beautiful union came Damon Adam Dischner and Morgan LeAnn Parker (Dischner). All too soon, and tragically, Drenia lost Mark in an accident in 1986.
Drenia and Timothy Schoenecker met and created a life together in Akron, CO. She took immense pride in her flower gardens and yard that all could admire along Highway 63.
She was employed by the Yuma School District for a brief stint. In 2012 sparks flew when she met Robert Scott Hegland of Fort Morgan, CO. Drenia and Scott were wed on October 20, 2013, in Fort Morgan, CO. They were blessed with almost 10 years of travelling the country together.
Preceding her to heaven were her parents and her husband Mark. She leaves behind her husband Robert, 6 children, 11 grandchildren and many family and friends. While those she leaves behind are sad to see her go all too soon, it’s a blessing for her to be free from this disease. Enjoy dancing in heaven, until we meet again…
