The first of the 2025 Yuma County Fair events is almost here.
The 4-H Fashion Revue is at Wray High School on Tuesday.
There will be a bit of a break after that with other “pre-fair” activities taking place Tuesday and Wednesday July 29-30 before the fair kicks into high gear from Thursday, July 31, through Sunday, August 3.
There is a change to the animal judging schedule this year, as the main portion of the fair has been shortened to four days after being five days in recent years. The Dairy Show opens things on July 31 at 2 p.m., followed by the Swine Show sat 6 p.m.
The Sheep and Goat shows now are after the Beef Show, which begins at 8 a.m. on August 1. The Sheep Show is later at 12 noon, followed by the Goat Show at 2:30 p.m.
The night show featuring B.J. Jamison and then The Eric Golden Band, begins at 7 p.m. on August 1.
The Yuma County Fair Parade is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2. The theme is “Barnyard Mardi Gras.”
There will be an afternoon PRCA Rodeo as the one on Saturday begins at 1 p.m. It is the Military and First Responder Day. The second PRCA Rodeo wraps up the fair at 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 3. It will be 4-H and FFA Night.
The Junior Livestock Sale is on Saturday, August 2, beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday night will include a Hispanic Concert from 8 to midnight, and a Teen Dance from 9 to 11.
There will be a carnival in operation on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. each day. It will be The Adventure Zone, which is an inflatable carnival.
