Girls golf headed to postseason

The regular season is over for the Yuma High School girls golf team. Next up is the Class 3A regional at Marianna Butte in Loveland on May 23.
However, only two golfers remain on the team, Jailyn Mekelburg and Aspen Chadwick
Still, the golfers were busy was three tournaments over five days.
They were at Sky Ranch in Sterling this past Monday for the Northeast League Tournament. Holyoke won the team title with a 294, while Washington County shot a 305 team score, Brush 313, Burlingotn 321 and Wray 330. Mekelburg shot a 128 to finish 19th in the individual standings, and Chadwick shot a 141 for 23rd.
Kit Carson hosted a tournament last Friday in Eads. Mekelburg was 15th with a 127, and Chadwick 16th with a 128.
The golfers also went to Holyoke last Thursday. Mekelburg shot a 121 to place 17th, and Chadwick a 127 for 18th place.
