The Yuma Chamber of Commerce is now under new leadership.
Hannah Lungwitz took over as Chamber director as of the start of this year. She replaces Alice Swanson, who announced her resignation and Lungwitz as her replacement, several months ago.
“I figured I’m going to be here the rest of my life and raise our kids here,” Lungwitz said, “so I thought I would do something to help the community.”
Lungwitz graduated from Yuma High School in 2006. (Korf is her maiden name.) She has owned and operated Small Town Photos for more than a decade. She and her husband Josh have three daughters, Autumn, 13 and in seventh grade at Yuma Middle School, Charlee, 10 and in fifth grade, and Zoey, 6 and in first grade. She has coached YHS softball in the past, and remains active with her daughters.
Her first big event as Chamber director will be the annual membership banquet, which is scheduled for March 4. Look for more details as the event draws closer.
Hannah said the Chamber will continue Lunch & Learn events, and help sponsor Good Morning Yuma breakfasts as she settles into her new role. She said the Chamber hopes to continue help set up sidewalk sales events, and possibly could do OctoberFest event with food trucks later this year.
One can contact Hannah via email at director@yumacochamber.com. Businesses can become Chamber members by emailing her, or access the membership form at yumacochamber.com.
As for Swanson, she is now on the Chamber Board of Directors as treasurer. Other board members are Dr. Callie Kuntz, president, Eric Metcalfe, vice president, Kathi Glanz, secretary, Meghann Blach, Jeff Ovalle and Karlie Svoboda.
