Jerry (Brenner) Crites was born August 14, 1927 to August and Frieda (Brinkhoff) Brenner in Idalia Colorado. She went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2022 at 94 years old. Jerry had one sister Maxine.
She was married on her birthday in 1947 to Lawrence Crites of Idalia, Colorado. They had three children Terry, Diane and Debra Jo. They moved from the farm south of Idalia to the Crites homestead north of Armel, where she donated her life into raising their children.
Jerry was an amazing cook and baker and made sure her kids and grandkids had goodies to eat when they were there. She made those special pancakes when the grandkids stayed overnight. Her family loved her German potato salad along with her apple pie. It was always a hit at the family get togethers. She also loved making crafts and playing cards when she was involved with Helping Hands Women’s club. She was a member of the St. John Church and involved with Women’s Fellowship. Jerry spent her summers gardening and canning vegetables.
Although Jerry was busy as a farm wife and mother, she spent 24 years driving the school bus for the Idalia School. Jerry was a huge supporter of the Idalia school and attended many sporting events cheering on all the Idalia athletes.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, August and Frieda Brenner; sister Maxine Jenson; parents-in-law, Fred and Clara Crites; granddaughter Tysee Crites and great grandson Jarin Coberly.
