Marjorie Alice Murphy 1926-2022

Marjorie was born to Clifford and Rachel (Clark) Lantz November 28, 1926 in Sterling CO. She passed away October 31, 2022 at FairAcres nursing home in Greeley, CO.
She grew up in Yuma and graduated from Yuma Union High School. After graduation, she got a teaching job north of Eckley in a small school. She was to replace a young man who was leaving for the army. She went to the school to see what her duties were and met the love of her life. When she got home, she told her mom she met the man she was going to marry, Floyd (Bud) Murphy. They were married September 29, 1947 in Wray, CO. To this marriage they were blessed with five children.
Marjorie was active in her church, her bowling league, the American Legion Womens Auxillary, as a volunteer for the Yuma Public Library, and a long time Employee at the Yuma Schools.
She loved to read, to quilt, to garden, host family gatherings, play the piano, and spoil her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy Tolbert, husband, daughter-in law Sylvia Murphy. Left to grieve her are sister Bonnie Smith (Hoffman, IL), Marjorie’s children Steve (Wrangell, AK), Stuart (Sharon) (Greeley, CO), Curtis (Gainesville, FL), Colleen (Yuma, CO), Kathleen (Greeley, CO), eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on January 6, 2023 at the Community of Christ Church at 10:30 a.m.
