Memorial Day services, cemetery tour, return

A regular Memorial Day weekend returns in 2021.
The Yuma VFW and American Legion will be hosting Memorial Day services after taking off last year due to the COVID-19 concerns (besides a brief ceremony), and the Yuma Museum is bringing back its Cemetery Tour at the Yuma Cemetery following the service there, Monday.

A list of military veterans buried in cemeteries in west Yuma County can be found inside this edition, along with a page of the sponsors who make it possible.
Yuma VFW and American Legion will have the traditional service at Pleasant Valley on Sunday at 9 a.m., incorporated into the Pleasant Valley Church’s regular Sunday service.
A service will be held at the Eckley Cemetery on Monday at 9 a.m., and then at the Yuma Cemetery at 10 a.m.
The Reverend Dennis Fitzgerald of Yuma’s St. John Lutheran Church and Yuma VFW Commander Adam Beauprez will speak at the Monday services.
Young Addilyne Pagel will sing the National Anthem, and Dave Hoch and Carol White will team up to do “Taps.”
The Color Guard and Firing Squad will participate in the services.

Tour
Following the Yuma Memorial Day Service, the Yuma Museum will resume its Cemetery Tour.
The Yuma Museum members welcome all to the Yuma Museum’s annual Memorial Day Cemetery Tour.
Five men will be honored who felt the call to stand up and protect the country they loved. As the five men are honored, we are keenly aware of the many, many men and women who served and sacrificed their time and some their lives to keep America the land of the free for all of us today. We owe a great debt to all those brave soldiers and sailors.
The tour will begin after the Memorial Day Service. Breakfast burritos will be available.
