Otis volleyball keeps rolling

The Otis High School volleyball team will take a seven-match winning streak into its showdown at Washington County-rival Arickaree on Friday.
The Bulldogs are 12-5 overall, 3-0 in the YWKC League, after last Friday’s home win over
Stratton in a non-league tilt. They are No. 11 in the Class 1A Rating Percentage Index, and entered the Top 10 this week at No. 10. Arickaree should provide a stern test as the Bison are 15-5 overall and No. 19 in the RPI.
Otis won its seventh straight with a solid 25-20, 25-20, 25-22 decision over Stratton last Friday. Otis statistics were not available. It was the Bulldogs’ second win this season over Stratton, the first coming in the Akron Invitational championship match last month.

ARICKAREE
The Arickaree volleyball team will be looking to snap Washington County-rival Otis’ seven-match winning streak on Friday when the Bison host the Bulldogs.
The Bison are 15-5 overall, 2-2 in the YWKC League, after last Friday’s league win over Flagler. They are No. 19 in the Rating Percentage Index.
They were challenged in the second set last Friday at home against Flagler, but cruised in the other two sets for a 25-13, 27-25, 25-18 win. Lilly Monat had seven kills, Ja’Niya Smith five, Cora Schrock four, McKenna Jess four, and Janice Kalcevic three. Monat had 13 assists, and C. Schrock 11. Monat was 19-20 serving with six aces, Julissa Quinteros 17-18 with two aces, C. Schrock 10-10, Jesse 7-7 and A. Ramirez 8-10.

LONE STAR
The Lone Star volleyball team has just three matches left after picking up a tournament win last Saturday.
The Longhorns are 7-12 overall, 1-3 in the YWKC League.
Lone Star lost a league match last Thursday at Idalia, 16-25, 25-27, 7-25. Lone Star statistics were not available.
The Longhorns hosted a tournament on Saturday, first losing to Genoa-Hugo, 23-25, 15-25. Lone Star statistics were not available.
They then rallied for a win over Kiowa, 27-25, 22-25, 15-7. Statistics were not available.
