Outlaws football a home show early

Yuma High School’s football team will spend most of their time at home in the first six weeks, then finish the regular season with three straight road games.

That was to be expected as the 2025 schedule is the second in the two-year cycle, meaning game locations are flip-flopped from 2024 — when the Outlaws mostly were on the road until October.

All nine games will be played on Friday nights, and all start at 7 except for the trip to Torrington, Wyoming on September 19, which has a 6 p.m. kickoff.

The Outlaws open the 2025 season August 25 at home against Chase County out of Imperial, Nebraska.

All five of Yuma’s home games come within the team’s first six games. The Outlaws close out the regular season with road games at Holyoke, Wray and Limon — the last being on Halloween. Their bye comes in the season’s third week.

Conversely, the JV’s eight-game schedule is front loaded with five away games before closing out with three straight at home.

The Outlaws went 4-6 last season, losing to Forge Christian in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs. Following is this year’s schedule.
