Robert Charles Robinson 1939-2022

Robert Charles Robinson, Sr. was born in Larned, Kansas to Merne F and Lola Belle (Hagar) Robinson on August 8, 1939, at the family farm home. Bob was the 10th child of a family of 12 children, six girls and six boys, and three adopted children: Betty Jane, Terri(deceased), and Randy.
Bob was born with a twinkle in his eye that carried on into adulthood. He was always teasing and playing tricks on his sisters. One sister mentioned she was the designated babysitter and had to paddle him more than once for running away. Of course, he “forgot” that. He would “never” run away from his sister!
Bob attended school in Larned up to the 10th grade. After that he didn’t have time for school. “I had to be out there working” he said. He played some football in school, but his passion then and throughout his life has been baseball. He said that kids would get together and play baseball long into the night.
In August of 1962 he joined a harvest crew and travelled as far as Benkelman, NE where he quit the harvest and started working for a farmer in Max, NE. There he met Mary, the love of his life, and on October 22, 1962, the couple was married in Wray, CO. They settled for a short time in Wauneta, NE, then moved to Larned for another short time. They moved to Wray in 1963, then to Denver later that year. After 11 years they moved back to Wray with their two children and have lived there since. The Lord blessed them again with William James in 1979. Bob worked for the City of Wray for 29 years before retiring in 2004.
Bob left the earth on May 17, 2022, and leaves his wife Mary, children Robert Jr. and William, brothers Keith and Elvin, and sister Betty. Their daughter Janet Preceded him in 1997 in a train wreck, and his parents and other siblings. He has also left grandchildren Alexis, Jenessa, Brendon, Paedon, Landon, Gage, Ilan, and Faythe. Also left to mourn are Wayne Rasmussen, the father of Alexis, Jenessa and Brendon, and his wife Kim from Cleveland, OK, as well as nephews, nieces and many cousins.
