Samuel Lee Dembitsky 1956-2022

Samuel Lee Dembitsky passed away at his home Tuesday August 9, 2022. He was born March 14, 1956 in Yuma, CO.
Sam had many jobs throughout his life; he worked as a dispatcher in Yuma, CO, drove semi-trucks, worked for the Port of Entry in Fort Morgan and drove a school bus for the Yuma School District. He retired from the City of Fort Morgan as a truck driver just several weeks ago. Sam was also a blacksmith, often traveling with his friends, Tony Spressor, Mike Boyce, and Mike Davis, who were all learning the trade. He believed that if you worked hard and paid your bills, you would be a better, stronger person.
Sam loved to work with his hands. He was always tinkering in his garage or blacksmithing in the shop. He kept busy, except at night when he would watch TV with his beloved chihuahuas, Peanut, Tinker and Lulu, on his lap. Sam would talk to anyone, and loved telling old “farmer” jokes and stories.
Sam is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Michael (Christina) Kelley, Jeffery (Kristine Laucis) Marcum, Russell Marcum, Lee Ann (Bill) Rubino, Shannon Evig and Kimberly Webb; grandchildren, Mark Fresquez, Todd Fresquez, Justin Webb-Isabella, Katie Hansen,Jack Kelley-Marcum, Kyle Mohundro, Faith Mohundro, Enoch Marcum, Elsa Kelley-Marcum, Xylia Marcum, Mackenzie Marcum and Adrian Marcum; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members, including Luella and David Lillich. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Marie Korf.
A graveside service will be held Saturday September 3, 2022 at Yuma Cemetery in Yuma, Colorado, at 10 a.m.
