Travis Koenig 1984-2025

Travis Wayne Koenig, 41, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Yuma, Colorado passed away on July 14, 2025. He was born March 7, 1984, in Wray, CO to Kevin Lee Koenig and JeanEllen Irene (Hinkle) Metzler and grew up in Yuma.

Travis graduated from Yuma High School in 2002 and then attended Colorado School of Mines on a full-ride academic scholarship, majoring in Metallurgy and Material/Nuclear Science.

He excelled and was top senior management, working as a metallurgist in California, Texas, Mississippi, and South Carolina. He enjoyed reading, gaming, collecting Legos, listening to a variety of music, liked discussing politics and current events, playing board games, putting puzzles together, had an excellent work ethic, had a witty sense of humor, and was a protector of his sisters.

Travis played the trumpet in high school band, was a Boy Scout, a member of the National Honor’s Society, and loved the Green Bay Packers.

Thanks to have shared his life are his mother, JeanEllen Metzler, father Kevin and Yvonne Koenig, siblings: Stacey (Tristan) Stone, Rachael Brunswig, and Hannah Koenig, niece and nephews; Jackson, Sienna, Ledger, Alton and Carson, his grandmother, Alvina Koenig and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald Koenig and Patti Hinkle and his aunt, Deborah Koenig.

A Life Celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26 at Bethel Family Praise Center, 19950 CR 78, Eaton, CO with a reception to follow.
