YHS girls golf keeps improving

Yuma High School’s girls golf team hosted the Yuma Invitational on Monday at Indian Hills Golf Course.

The Outlaws had a great day for golf Monday. There were 11 teams, 73 golfers, a full field. 

Yuma’s varsity squad was led by Jailyn Mekelburg, who just missed out on a top 5 finish, placing 6th, with a score of 105.  Aspen Chadwick finished in 12th place, with a score of 109, and Izzie Young finishing with a score of 137.  Danika Dischner continues to improve in only her 4th Varsity start. 

The JV squad had a great day, finishing just one shot out of first place with a team score of 171.  Kenna Serl and Avery Langley both placed in the top 5.  Maddilyn Rahm and Riha Hansen both had good performances that helped secure 2nd place. 

Being the host, the entire team was on the course, all 12 girls participated, including Brooklyn Perry, Jacqueline Gonzalez, Kaydence Hansen and Sicily Lowell.
