Yuma High School boys basketball team has fallen to the seventh-place game in the Patriot League Tournament.
The Outlaws close out the regular season Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against Liberty Common on the University of Northern Colorado campus in Greeley.
They likely will be without senior Brody Sheffield, the Patriot’s leading scorer at 25.6 points per game. He injured his ankle in the first quarter of Yuma’s 54-41 loss to Resurrection Christian in the consolation semifinals, Wednesday night in The Pit.

It’s possible he will be available for regional next week. The Outlaws will be one of the eight regional hosts despite losing their last two. They are 18-4 and still No. 3 in the CHSAA 3A Selection & Seeding Index.
Yuma was leading 17-11 in the second quarter when Sheffield went down while driving to the basket.
Resurrection Christian made a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer to tie the score at 20.
The Cougars opened the third on a 9-0 run. Consecutive 3-pointers by Jalen Rose and Reyli Trejo pulled the Outlaws to within one, 29-28, but Rez pulled away after that.
Yuma had beaten Resurrection Christian 57-51 in The Pit just one week earlier.
Statistics from Wednesday’s game were not available yet.
