The Otis High School football team will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak when it travels to Deer Trail on Friday.
The Bulldogs are 1-3 after a heartbreaking 30-28 loss Briggsdale, which improved to 4-0 and is ranked No. 9 in 6-man. Deer Trail enters this week with a 2-1 record.
Otis had its chances last Friday at Briggsdale. The Bulldogs trailed 14-6 at halftime, and 22-14 after three quarters. However, they rallied with a 14-8 advantage in the fourth quarter, coming up short by single two-point conversion kick to end up in overtime.
Otis was able to pile up 286 total yards on offense. Tayte Smith and Jack Willeke combined to throw for 169 yards and three touchdowns, two by Smith. Peyton Wells had two receptions, both for touchdowns, for 81 yards. Charlie Kendrick had one TD catch for 78 yards, and Taylor Ringlein had two catches for 12. Smith rushed for 107 yards, and Kendrick for 20.
The Bulldogs’ other touchdown came on an interception return by Kendrick, who had two interceptions. Smith had one interception on defense.
Kendrick was in on 11 total tackles, Ringlein eight, P, Wells six (two for a loss), Smith six, Bohden Klinzmann four, Willeke two, Erick Thorn two, and Mason Metzler one.

ARICKAREE/WOODLIN
The Arickaree/Woodlin football team is enjoying Homecoming Week while it prepares to host fourth-ranked Stratton, Friday night.
Both teams enter the game with 2-1 records. The Indian Mustangs are coming off their bye week.

OTIS VOLLEYBALL
The Otis High School volleyball will have its first action in over a week when it competes in the Akron Tournament, Saturday.
The Bulldogs traveled to Briggsdale last Friday, suffering a non-conference loss to the Falcons, 12-25, 19-25, 16-25. They are now 3-8 on the season heading into tournament action Saturday.
They had an encouraging effort last Tuesday against top-ranked Merino, taking one set before losing in four. Rowan Tribelhorn had 15 kills, Kacye Perry six, Madelyn Willeke three and Jayce Perry two. Alli Hornung had 18 setting assists. Hornung was 15-16 serving with two aces, Hailey Stivers 9-9 with one ace, J. Perry 8-8 , K. Perry 7-8, and Tribelhorn 7-7 with one ace.

AW Volley

The Arickaree/Woodlin volleyball team heads into its Homecoming Week match on Friday against Stratton with a 5-5 record.
The Indian Mustangs then will play in the Akron Tournament on Saturday, and go to Deer Trail on Tuesday.
They want to Rush last Friday to take on Miami-Yoder, and came away with a 3-0 win, 25-5, 25-5, 25-10. Raeya Schrock had seven kills, Joslyn King six, and Lilly Monat two. Cora Schrock had eight setting assists, and Monat seven. McKenna Jesse was 14-14 serving with four aces, Janice Kalcevic 14-15 with seven aces, King 11-12 with three aces, Monat 8-9 with three aces, C. Schrock 7-8 with two aces, Julisa Quinteros 4-5 with four aces, Gracie Monat 3-3 with two aces, and Tori Arfsten 2-2 with one ace.
