Homecoming Week festivities continue in Yuma through Saturday.
A community bonfire will be held today, October 9, at 7 p.m. in the sports complex parking lot. The dress up theme today is Rhyme Without a Reason. Friday is Red & White Day, so wear all your Outlaws gear.
The Homecoming Parade will be held Friday afternoon. It will begin at Yuma High School at 1:15 p.m., proceed downtown, then head west to Yuma Middle School where a pep rally will be held. The theme is “Blast From the Past.” Classes, clubs and fall sports teams are all building floats. Each is picking a decade/era and decorate accordingly.
The volleyball team plays Wiggins on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. The varsity match is set for 5. The football game with Wiggins kicks off at 7 p.m. Halftime will feature a performance by the YHS marching band, and the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.
The Queen candidates are Kenya Arvizo, Bailey Nighswonger, Danika Dischner and Carolina Ross. The King candidates are Miguel Carrasco, David Covarrubias, Josiah Perez and Daden Beauprez.
The Homecoming Dance will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the YHS Commons.
