The arraignment hearing for Clifton Boggess, Jr., has been continued to December 2 in Yuma County District Court.
It was set for October 7. Boggess, 63, appeared remotely, as did District Attorney Travis Sides.
Boggess’ legal counsel, Anna Schamber and Katherine McClaughlin, requested a continuation in order to complete their investigation and secure expert witnesses. Judge Kim Killin granted the request, and also ordered the parties to contact the court for dates for a three-week trial within 14 days in anticipation of a not guilty plea by Boggess.
Among the charges he is facing is first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased body, and second-degree kidnapping, in relation to the October 2023 death of Britani Meek of Yuma, who was 25 at the time of her death.
