Jacqueline “Jackie” Jean (Jewell) Golgart was born on July 20, 1929 in Yuma, Colorado to Frank and Lillian (Ferguson) Jewell. She passed away on December 24, 2025 at The Yuma District Hospital she was 96 years of age.
Jackie grew up south of Yuma on a small farm where she loved riding horses. She attended a small school South of Yuma.
Jackie married Dale Golgart in St. Francis, Kansas. Following the ceremony they celebrated their marriage by going to a watermelon patch where they shared a piece of watermelon along with her brother, Jim and wife, Shirley. Dale passed away on January 4, 2004. After Dale’s passing Jackie got two kittens to help fill the void, she truly loved her kittens.
Jackie worked for the Otis Grade School for twenty-two years in many different capacities as the bookkeeper, ordered the supplies, main cook this included everything homemade from cookies, cinnamon rolls and homemade breads.
Jackie was a gardener and truly enjoyed her garden and flowers. She was an avid cook being known for her pies, and homemade noodles and her rum cake, she was also known for drinking the rum as she made the rum cake therefore the rum cake varied from time to time.
She loved her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed going to yard sales where she bought up the toys for the grandkids and great grandkids and later was down on the floor playing with the
grandchildren and the new toys.
Jackie will be remembered for her sassy, spunky personality and always had a smile or giggle to share and was never afraid to say what was on her mind. Jackie and Dale enjoyed woodwork which included toy boxes for the grandkids following their time with the woodwork they would sit down and enjoy a cold beer and or a glass of wine together.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lillian Jewell; husband, Dale; son, Raymond Golgart and son-in-law, George Blackwell; brothers, Jim and Delbert; sisters, Beulah, Tiny and Wanda along with other relatives.
Jackie is survived by her daughters, Sharyn Walters and husband, Gale and Marilyn Blackwell; grandkids, Tammy Powell and husband Stewart; Steve Golgart and wife Kim; Mike Walters and wife Judy; Brian Golgart and wife Cheryl and James Blackwell and wife Jamie along with other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service – Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Otis Cemetery in Otis, Colorado with Reverend Jamie Strickler of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Otis, Colorado officiating. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
