Alexander “Alex” Thomas Chamberlain, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the forever age of 24. Born on July 5, 2001, in Sterling, Colorado, Alex was beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend whose bright spirit touched every life he encountered.
Alex was the cherished son of Candace Meis of Sterling, Colorado, and Brian Chamberlain of Midland, Michigan, and the treasured bonus son of Paula Cooke and Jessica Chamberlain. His family circle was large, loving, and deeply important to him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother Wanda Hutchison; great-grandparents Ruth and Clatus Meis; great-aunts Katie Meis and Cecelia Meis; second cousin Crystal Metzler; maternal great-grandparents Jack and Pat Villines; paternal grandfather Dave Chamberlain; and grandmother Becky Chamberlain.
Throughout his life, Alex lived in Michigan, Illinois, Colorado, and Wyoming. He attended Central High School and Triumph High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he formed lasting friendships and became known as a shining light in the lives of many. His journey on earth was marked by kindness, loyalty, and a heart that seemed impossibly big for one person to carry.
Alex was a protector—someone who stood by people he loved without hesitation. He had a gift for making others laugh, lifting spirits, and offering comfort when it was needed most. His humor, creativity, and gentle nature made him unforgettable. He enjoyed gaming, drawing, music, and writing poems, expressing himself in ways that revealed the depth of his imagination and the tenderness of his soul.
He is survived by his mother, Candace Meis; his father, Brian Chamberlain; and his bonus moms, Paula Cooke and Jessica Chamberlain. He leaves behind his siblings Brogen Chamberlain, Chase Chamberlain (Lucius and Eli), Catch Chamberlain, and RosaRae “Punky” Chamberlain. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Clayton and Peggy Meis, maternal grandmother Carrie Meis, and paternal grandparents Glee and Rich Cashen and Sandy Chamberlain. Alex’s memory will also be carried forward by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, including Jaclyn and Jim Thur; Emily and JD Barkey (Beau and Everett); Stephanie and Brad Floyd (Brianna, Paige, and Liam); Maranda and Kent McArthur (Ethan and Ella); and Heather Chamberlain (Hailey).
A celebration of Alex’s life was held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Emmanuel Baptist church in Sterling Colorado. Services will begin at 11 a.m., with lunch to follow. Family and friends gathered to share memories, and honor the beautiful life he lived.
