Bonnie Jean Lovitt 1943-2021

Bonnie Jean Lovitt–Allen 77 of Akron, Colorado passed away September 1,2021 at the Sterling Living Center in Sterling, Colorado. She was born in Yuma, Colorado December 28, 1943 to Oliver Joseph Allen and Vernadean Allen-Dilka. She graduated from Yuma High School in 1962. She married her high school sweetheart Ronald Lovitt in October 28,1963 in Castle AFB, California. To this marriage she had five beautiful children. Alan Gene, Rhonda Lu, Rodney Lynn, Randall Lee, and Rebecca LeAnn.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was mainly a homemaker raising her 5 children. She did work at Walmart in Texas running the deli many years ago. Owned and operated with Ron the Rainbow Roller Rink in Yuma, Co for two years. She also worked for United Way in Texas as a home healthcare worker. She had a special bond with her client Mr. Nichols who taught her all about baseball.
She never knew a stranger. Her home was always open to family, friends or whoever needed some Bonnie prayers. Her faith in God was very strong. She really enjoyed being a member of Womens Aglow traveling to many locations including Florida, New Jersey, Denver and many more. She always had a dream to own a cabin in Blue Eye Missouri. She always seemed to form a special friendship with whoever she met along the way. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Ronald of Akron, brother Dean Allen, and wife Meredith of Cheyenne, WY, sister Lynette Stegman and husband Bob of Akron, CO, sister Vernita Crowder and husband David of Doniphan MO., son Alan of Athens, Alabama, daughter Rhonda Aagesen and husband David of Yuma, CO, son Rodney Lovitt of Sterling CO, son Randy Lovitt and wife Hazel of Anchorage AK, daughter Rebecca Thompson and husband Charles of Greeley, CO. Eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. And many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in by death her dad Oliver Allen, mother Vernadean Allen, sister Joyce Allen, daughter in-law Melody (Bear)Lovitt, daughter in-law Heather Lovitt, and great grandson Cameron Lovitt.
A memorial service was held at Baucke Funeral Home Yuma, Co. September 11, 2021 with Pastor Don Smith of Yuma Christian Church officiating. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
