Brophy on All-LPAA team

Only one Yuma High School wrestler made it on the All-Lower Platte Activities Association team, which was recently released.
The LPAA determines its all-conference selections in wrestling based on the top placer in each weight at regional.
Therefore, Wray dominated the selections with eight. Wiggins and Sedgwick County/Fleming each had two, and Holyoke and Yuma one each.
Yuma’s lone selection is Blaze Brophy at 132 pounds. Brophy placed third at regional. The junior had an even better run at the Class 2A State Tournament, reaching the championship match, finishing second. He was the first Yuma wrestler to reach the finals since 2011. Brophy finished with a 27-10 record.
