Elida was born in Teporachi, Chihuahua, Mexico on May 17, 1959. She attended high school at Secundaria Tecnica Agropecuaria in Nicolas Bravo, Chih, and Graduating in 1976. She later earned her GED and graduated in Sterling CO in 2006.
She loved to play basketball growing up and throughout her high school years. Sewing and knitting was was her passion, she learned that very young and made her daughter and granddaughters their dresses.
She married Luis Dominguez on February 19, 1977 in Mexico. They came to Yuma in 1989 with their 3 children.
She began to study the bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses in October of 1992. Elida was baptized a year later in 1993 as a symbol of her decision to begin her 28 years of dedication to Jehovah.
Elida was a loving, faithful, and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Elida was predeceased by her parents Maria and Emilio Meraz. She is survived by her husband Luis, her six sisters and brother, Gaudalupe, Graciela, Jose, Cecilia, Leticia, Griselda, and Laura.
She leaves behind her three children, Luis and wife Claudia; Adrian and wife Jessica;
Perla and husband Michael, along with 5 grandchildren: Mizael, Kenny, Abigail, Alix, and Lilly.

Elida nació en Teporachi, Chihuahua, México, el 17 de Mayo de 1959. Asistió a la escuela secundaria Técnica Agropecuaria en Nicolas Bravo, Chih, y se graduó en 1976. Más tarde obtuvo su GED y se graduó en Sterling CO en el 2006.
Le encantaba jugar baloncesto mientras crecía y durante sus años de escuela secundaria. Coser y tejer era su pasión, lo aprendió muy joven e hizo los vestidos de su hija y sus nietas. Se casó con Luis Domínguez el 19 de Febrero de 1977 en México. Vinieron a Yuma Co en 1989 con sus 3 hijos.
Comenzó a estudiar la Biblia con los Testigos de Jehová en Octubre de 1992. Elida fue bautizada un año después en 1993 como símbolo de su decisión de comenzar sus 28 años de dedicación a Jehová.
Elida era una esposa, madre y abuela amorosa, fiel y devota. Elida fue fallecida por sus padres María y Emilio Meraz. Le sobreviven su esposo Luis, sus seis hermanas y su hermano, Guadalupe, Graciela, José, Cecilia, Leticia, Griselda y Laura.
Ella deja a sus tres hijos, Luis y su esposa Claudia; Adrián y su esposa Jessica;
Perla y su esposo Michael. Junto con 5 nietos: Mizael, Kenny, Abigail, Alix y Lilly.
