Fun times planned for Yuma on Saturday

The City of Yuma and the community is gearing up for a big Third of July celebration, which this year will fall on a Saturday.
The Yuma Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a craft fair downtown on S. Main St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The vendors will be offering products such as baked goods, pet crafts, kid crafts, bath crafts, essential oils, and so much more.
The first annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participating cars, trucks and motorcycles will gather in the 100 block of S. Main.
The Yuma Police Department will have its auction at 4 p.m. by the vehicle impound lot. There will be vehicles, safety deposit boxes, a generator, a mower, submersible pumps, and office furniture among the auction items.
The City of Yuma’s Third of July celebration will be at the Jeff Armstrong Ballfield Complex, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Yuma VFW will perform an opening flag ceremony. There will be a free hot dog meal, as well as a cotton candy stand, and shaved ice.
Bank of Colorado is sponsoring a pie eating contest. Yuma Volunteer Fire Department is having a water gun fight. An obstacle course will be set up by the Yuma Police Department and Yuma Ambulance Service. The Chamber of Commerce will have a dunk tank fundraiser beginning at 5 p.m. Dave Hoch will provide a trombone performance.
And of course the evening will conclude with the Yuma Volunteer Fire Department presenting the fireworks show at dusk.
