Indians going cross country to Greeley

Yuma High School’s cross country teams continue their season Saturday in Greeley, after a strong start last weekend.
The Indians are at the Greeley West Andy Myers Invitational, Saturday morning.
They opened the 2021 season last Saturday at the Windsor Wizards Invitational, which was held at the Poudre Learning Center in Greeley.
Yuma did not post team scores as there were only three varsity runners for both the girls and boys teams.
However, they ran very well.
Junior Hailey Eyring ran a personal-best time of 21 minutes, 41.2 seconds while placing 18th out of 81 runners. Sophomore Ashley Ibanez was 57th in 23:51.4, and senior Samantha Wells was 71st in 26:43.3.
Loveland won the girls team title, followed by Silver Creek.
Javier Duran, a junior, led the boys by placing 33rd out of 100 runners with a time of 18:18.8. Junior Angel Escobar was 40th in 18:47.1, and senior Jaxson Lungwitz 70th in 20:35.9.
Erie won the boys team title, followed by Lyons.
In the girls JV race, Myka McDonald was 17th in 27:33.2, Alyssa Roberts 25th in 29:21.9, Wendy Garcia 32nd in 31:46.3, and Natalia Jurado 38th in 34:20.4.
In the boys JV race, Mely Gonzalez was 22nd in 20:38.6, Liam McClaran 58th in 23:50.7, Jaime Montanez 95th in 24:00.1, and Angel Ibarra 95th in 32:08.1.
