Ivan Gardner, 95, of Sterling passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 in Sterling.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday, November 4 at Tennant Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Hackbarth officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Ivan was born on December 31, 1926 in Yuma, Colorado to Elmer and Clara (Aagensen) Gardner. He was in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II Veteran. He was married to Elizabeth “Betty” McKinnon for 66 years until her passing in 2012.
He worked on a farm near Yuma, then for years at a Hay Mill, worked at a feed lot, and later retired from Logan County. He was lifelong member of the Foursquare Church, and was also a life member of the American Legion Post #20 and the V.F.W. #3541.
Ivan is survived by his sons Mike (LuAnne) Gardner of Atwood, Jeff Gardner of Sterling, and Harry (Deborah) Gardner of Gering, NE; brother Melvin Gardner of Sterling; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Clara; brothers Robert, Gerald, and Ralph Gardner; sisters Lorene Simmering, Alene Dowdy, and Carrie Hirschfeld.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ivan’s name to Devonshire Acres activity fund care of Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
