Jon Eastin 1951-2021

Jon Eastin was born to Paul Dolores Eastin and Gladys Grace (Dennis) Eastin on January 26, 1951 in Yuma, Colorado. He died peacefully at home with his family after suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) for three years.
He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado with a teaching degree in Special Education. He pursued a Masters Degree from UNC in Special Education and later received certification in educational administration. Jon was a teacher and coached basketball, baseball and golf at Greeley West High School. He became an administrator in District Six and worked as a special education coordinator, Director of Special Education and Director of Safety and Security.
Jon played fast pitch softball, his team won the state championship in 1978 and 1980; he was awarded All State those years playing first and second bases.
Jon enjoyed his family, horses, rodeo, sports, fishing and golf. He volunteered as a Wrangler for the Greeley Independence Stampede and then served seven years on the Greeley Independence Stampede board overseeing security and rodeos. In 1994 he was the General Chairman of the Stampede. Jon also served on the National Association of Rodeo Committees Board, the board of directors for Island Grove Treatment Center and was a member of the Greeley Independence Stampede Old Buckers.
He is survived by his wife Susan Eastin of 25 years, his son Garrett Eastin and daughter Julia Eastin, and his sister Susie Swehla.
He was preceded in death by both parents, and one brother Ronnie Eastin.
