Linda Mardelle Norling, 65, of Cope, CO went home to the Lord on March 15, 2021.
Linda was born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, CO on November 15, 1955 to Odie and Marjorie Dutton. After living in Denver for the first few years of her life, her father Odie relocated the family to Eastern Colorado and began what was known for so many years as Dutton’s Dairy or to the grandkids, “The Farm”. Soon after graduating high school from Arickaree, Linda moved to Denver and began a long and successful career in the lumber industry. She excelled as a saleswoman and product specialist. In 2003, she made her final move from Denver to return home to care for her parents. Over the next 17 years, Linda had the opportunity to create countless memories with her parents that she cherished with all of her heart.
The two most important things in Linda’s life were her family and her Faith. Of all her many achievements, Linda was most proud of her two children, Michael and Kasey. As a single parent, Linda worked multiple jobs to ensure her children were well provided for. Linda’s strength came from her faith in the Lord and she always found comfort in that relationship.
Linda will best be remembered for her selflessness and the ability to make others feel special. She particularly enjoyed the opportunity to turn a routine nephew, niece, or grandchild visit into something extraordinary. Whether it be a home cooked meal, a bag of candy, or a toy from the store, something additional was always in the cards. Linda was happy when others were happy and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Linda was survived by her children: Michael (Annie) Groven, Kasey Kensington; grandchildren: Elliana Groven, Christian Groven, grand-pups Wrigley, Kensi, Maddie, Belle, Moose and Pax, grand-birds Mackie and Charlie, as well as her siblings: Gary (Bev) Dutton, Connie Cook, Galen (Tina) Dutton, Davon Dutton, Kevin (Cathy) Dutton, Kent Dutton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents Odie and Marjorie Dutton, and brother Steven Dutton.
A private funeral service was held Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Cope , Community Church in Cope, CO. Interment followed at the Cope Cemetery. Bowin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
