Mekelburg qualifies for state golf

Yuma High School’s girls golf is back in the Class 3A State Tournament.
Junior Jailyn Mekelburg pulled out a personal best at regional, this past Monday in Sterling, shooting a 54-50-104 to qualify for state, which will be held at the Aspen Golf Club.
She and her coaches will go to Aspen on Monday for a practice round, followed by the state tournament being played on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Aspen Chadwick shot a 133 at regional, and Izzie Young a 138.
Co-head coach Luke Goeglein said he was very proud of all the players, and is looking forward to state, and to next season. He said there were many positives for all of the players this season.
