Steven Howard Morgan was born in Wray on October 28, 1952 to Howard and Rosalie (Armagost) Morgan. He passed away on April 30, 2025.
Steve attended elementary school in Eckley through 8th grade, then attended high school in Yuma. He was raised on a farm south of Eckley. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1970 where he was stationed in San Diego, CA. He served most of his time aboard the naval ship, the USS Thomaston LSD-28, as a marine mechanic during the Viet Nam war.
After he was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1973, he met Janice Voss in California and they were married shortly after that. Two daughters were born to this union, Heather Fawn and Summer Dawn.
After several years, Steve and Janice divorced. He later married Sandy Dilka and they enjoyed several years together until her passing in 2011.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandy, daughter Heather, niece Morgan Spencer, sisters Lynette Morgan, Linda Spencer, Crystal Morgan and infant brother Stanley. Left to mourn his passing are his daughter Summer, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters Jeannie (Mike) Leerar, Willie (Sam) Williams, brother Clayton (Crystal) Morgan and brother-in-law Kenny Spencer, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
