Volleyball headed to Brush

The growth continues for the Yuma Volleyball Team.

The YVT will be looking to climb toward .500 early in the 2022 campaign when it travels to Brush for a non-league match on Friday. Yuma is 2-4 overall after winning its home debut in four sets over Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, last Friday, followed by a tough three-set loss to the visiting Chase County Longhorns, this past Tuesday. Both matches were in the friendly confines of The Pit, Yuma’s first home matches of the season.
Yuma entered this week No 36 in the Class 2A Rating Percentage Index, but has plenty of opportunities the rest of the season to climb that ladder. Its lower Platte Activities Association is again asserting itself as a 2A power with undefeated Wiggins No. 1 in the RPI, and Sedgwick County No. 7. In 1A, Merino is No. 6 in the RPI.
Yuma made its home debut last Friday in The Pit after opening its season with four away matches, including three in the season-opening Kit Carson Fall Fling.
