Yuma and 1A hoopsters get All-State honorable mention

Yuma High School and other area athletes have been honored in the all-state basketball selections, released over the past week at CHSAANow.com. .
Yuma’s Forest Rutledge and Jesus Ross each received honorable mention in the Class 3A All-state selections.

Rutledge led the team in scoring with a 12.4 points per game average, and in rebounds at 7.0 per game. He averaged 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals.
Ross averaged 7.0 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.6 steals.
Otis’ Jack Willeke received honorable mention in the Class 1A All-state selections. He helped lead the Bulldogs to the program’s first state tournament appearance since 2010. Lone Star’s Abraham Martinez, and Arickaree’s Logan Wright also earned honorable mention in 1A.
On the girls’ side, Yuma’s Lea Richardson received honorable mention in the 3A All-state selections. The senior led the team in scoring at 11 points per game, and in steals at 3.5, while also averaging 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
