Blaze gets two Yuma houses

On June, 21, 2020 at about 3:15 am, members of the Yuma Fire Department, Yuma Ambulance Service, and the Yuma Police Department were called to 419 North Buffalo Street for a report of a structure fire. Upon arriving on scene officers found the car port and the house at 419 North Buffalo were fully engulfed. The neighboring house at 415 North Buffalo also had caught on fire. Both houses received substantial damage.
After members of the Yuma Fire Department put out the fire at both houses an investigation began. Due to the unknown circumstances of how the fire started the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) fire investigation unit was called in to assist with the investigation. Once CBI arrived and helped complete the investigation it was determined the fire was considered accidental and the fire likely started under the car port by a battery charger that had been placed on a motorcycle.
