Fireworks on Monday, but no other events planned for Third of July

There will not be any organized activities on the Third of July at the Jeff Armstrong Ballfield Complex.
The Yuma Volunteer Fire Department will present the traditional fireworks show at dusk, just east of the ball fields.

For the past several years, the city also helped organize a community celebration featuring food, pie eating contest, games, bouncy houses, mini-golf, and sometimes entertainment, leading up to the fireworks. Area organizations and businesses have set up booths, as well.
None of that is happening this year. The Bank of Colorado still plans on having its Pie Eating Contes, but it will be held earlier in the day at 12:30 p.m. in the bank’s parking lot, as part of its annual hot dog cookout.
The fireworks will start after sundown, and the ball field complex will be available to the community for viewing areas.
