JV football rallied for another win

Yuma High School’s JV football team rallied in the second half for a 24-14 win over Burlington, Monday in Yuma.
The Indians fell behind 14-0 in the first half, but dominated the final two quarters. They scored two plays into the third on Nash Richardson’s long run. The two-point conversion pulled Yuma to within 14-8. They then took the lead on their next drive on Ethan Goeglein’s long touchdown run. The two-point conversion made it 16-14.
It then turned into a defensive battle. A Burlington drive was stopped by Alex Lozano forcing a fumble. An interception by Lozano late in the game deep in Burlington territory set up Richardson’s TD run two plays later. The two-point conversion run accounted for the final 24-14 score.
The JV close out its season Monday with a home game against rival Wray. The JV now has wins over Highland, Limon and Burlington.
