Time to consider running for special districts

Board of directors elections will be held this spring for the Yuma Hospital District, Yuma Conservation District, and the Yuma Rural Fire Protection District of Yuma/Washington Counties.

The special districts have calls for nominations in this week’s legal notices section.
There are three seats up for election on the Yuma Hospital District Board of Directors. The seats currently are held by Chris Blecha, Cindy Stulp and Andrea Anzlovar. The other two board members, Monica King and DeAnn Sewell, were elected last spring.
The election will be held on May 2.
Eligible electors interested in serving on the board can get a self-nomination and acceptance form from Kiara Saucedo at Yuma District Hospital, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. She can be contacted at 848-4603 or email her at [email protected]. The deadline to submit the form is 5 p.m. on February 24.
An affidavit to be a write-in candidate must be submitted to Saucedo by the close of business on February 27. Applications for an absentee ballot must be filed by April 25.
All five seats on the Yuma Rural Fire Protection District are up for election. Two seats carry four-year terms, and the other three two-year terms. The seats currently are held by Ron Higgins, Gerland Klein, Mark Triplett, Lynn Hagemeier and Jaden Blach.
The election will be held on April 25.

The forms must be submitted by February 24. An affidavit to be a write-in candidate must be submitted by February 27.
Applications for an absentee ballot must be submitted by the Tuesday preceding the April 25 election.
The Yuma Conservation District has two supervisors positions up for election, each carrying four-year terms.
Eligible electors within the YCD can get self-nomination and acceptance forms from Sheila Anzlovar at 508 E. Eighth Ave. between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. One also can contact her at 848-5605 during those hours. The deadline to submit the form is February 24. The affidavit to be a write-in candidate is February 27. Applications for absentee ballots should be submitted no later than April 25.
The election is set for May 2.
