Young Harvin wins wrestling triple crown

Harvin Unger is a Triple Crown winner in the youth wrestling circuit.
Plus, his older brother Arlo nearly pulled it off as well. They are the sons of Jamie and Kelsey Unger of Yuma.
Harvin won The Rocky Mountain Nationals in Las Vegas June 9-10, which was the final leg of his quest for the Triple Crown. A total of 22 states were represented with more than 2,000 wrestlers that competed in the annual tournament.

The youngster was eligible to win the Triple Crown, as he won Who’s Bad National Classic in Pueblo in December and then the Wild West Championships in Casper, Wyoming in January. A youngster has to win two tournaments during the season, then win the Rocky Mountain nationals to win the Triple Crown.
Harvin wrestled in the 6U 61-pounds division in Las Vegas. He was tested early, being down 10-2 at the start of the third period of his first match, but he managed to get the pin with 15 seconds left. He won his next two matches with pins in the first period and finished the tournament with a 7-2 decision in the finals.
Arlo also was eligible for the Triple Crown, having won the Cosmic Clash in Denver in September, Monster Match in Denver in October, and the Who’s Bad. He wrestled in the 7U 70-pound division, coming up just short with a fourth-place finish.
Yuma High School senior Trey Stegman also represented Yuma at the Rocky Mountain National, but did not place.
