Yuma-1 will have school board election

Yuma School District-1 will have a board of education election in November.
The district ended up with four candidates for the two seats currently held by Duane Brown and Thomas Holtorf. The candidates are Tyson Brown, Callie Kuntz, Ronella Noble and Heath Roundtree. Both seats carry four-year terms.
Look for more about the candidates as the election approaches.
Current board members not up for election in 2023 are Lindsey Galles, John Deering and Terri Cooper.
• Liberty J-4 has ended up with three candidates for three seats coming open. They are Eric Smith, Alicia Sears and Kari Schultz. Sears and Schultz currently are on the board. Kenna Dible is not running for another term.
• Lone Star No. 101 will remain the same as incumbents Brian Kuntz, Bob Lockard and Tyler Mollohan were the only ones to enter their names into the race.
• Arickaree R-2 might have to do an appointment has just one candidate, Drew Axsom as a write-in candidate for District A. There is not a candidate for the at-large position, which currently is held by Axsom. Harold Jefferson currently holds the District A seat, but is term limited.
• Otis R-3 has two candidates for the three seats up for election, Amy Ison and incumbent Chad Gross. The district will seek interest in November an appointment to the unfilled seat.
