Yuma golfers played well at state

They did not bring home any medals, but Yuma’s Jada Young and Ema Richardson both had a great run at the Class 3A Girls Golf Championship, earlier this week at Elmwood Golf Course in Pueblo.
Richardson finished 43rd in the 84-golfer field. The 2021 YHS graduate had her best two rounds of the season, shooting a 102 and 106 to finish with a 208.

Young, a fellow 2021 graduate, had her best nine-hole round ever with a 48 over the front nine on Tuesday. She also had a strong back nine on Monday, but struggled in the other two rounds, finishing with a 109-118-227.
Richardson finished her high school career qualifying for state in four sports — golf, track and field, volleyball and basketball.
