Jason Meier 1973-2022

Jason Lee Meier passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2022 at the age of 48.
Jason was born on December 13, 1973 in Denver, CO. He was blessed to be adopted 3 weeks later to Robert and Isabell Meier of Yuma, CO. Jason graduated from Yuma High School in 1992.
On October 24, 1998 he married Kimberly McCreath. She was the girl next door he claimed to have loved since he was 5 years old. They started their lives in their first home in Roxborough, CO. On November 30, 1999 they welcomed their son Trevor Lee and a daughter Heidi Kay on August 17, 2002.
Playing ball, shooting guns, fishing and bowling were a few of his talents he taught his kids. He shared his love for baseball with his kids and coached their teams for several years. In recent years Jason had taken to riding his Harley and couldn’t wait for a ride with his buddies on the weekend.
When Jason was a Junior in High School he solidified his childhood dream and committed to the US Navy. His military experience began October 1992 when he left for boot camp in San Diego, CA. From there he was stationed at the Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA on the USS Kearsarge. He later enlisted in the Army National Guard from 2000-2002 and served state side with the Global War on Terrorism after 9-11 as a Combat Medic. After a short time with the Army he realized he really wanted to finish his military career with the Navy. In 2002 he enlisted with the US Navy Reserves Construction Battalion. He was deployed with the 7th Construction Battalion in Biloxi, MS to Iraq from 2004-2005 to serve Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Jason became a Denver Police Officer in October 2005. Over the course of his career he received A Life Saving Award, Distinguished Service Cross STAR award, 7 Official Commendations and 2 Chiefs Unit Citations. He loved his job and never stopped talking about his shift when he came home.
Jason is survived by the love of his life Kimberly; son Trevor (girlfriend, Breanna Lopez) and daughter Heidi; his parents Robert & Isabell Meier (Yuma); biological mother Gail Packard (Grand Junction, CO); Father & Mother In-Law Kevin & Kathy Guy; siblings, Aaron (wife, Lissa) Meier (Colorado Springs, CO); Jeremy Meier (Yuma); Bobbi (Meier) Gordon (Greeley, CO); Sister In-Law(s) Amy (husband, Juan) Mendoza; Rebecca Guy & Angel Fritz; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. He is preceded in death by his Grandmothers Dorothy Meier (Yuma, CO) & Irene Ramos (Holly, CO); Uncle Richard Henry (Yuma, CO); Father-In-Law Milford McCreath (Yuma, CO); Brother-In-Law Toby McCreath (Yuma, CO).
Jason was a true hero that was honored to serve his country. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for his country. He will be missed by all that knew him. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughtful prayers during this difficult time.
Services will be held May 3rd at 12:30 pm at Horan & McConaty 3101 S Wadsworth, Lakewood, CO 80227. Interment will follow at Ft Logan National Cemetery. The family will have an open house following at their home in Littleton, CO.
